Michael Phelps Early Life
Phelps was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in the nearby town of Towson in the Rogers Forge neighborhood. He attended elementary school in Rogers Forge, middle school in Dumbarton, and high school in Towson.
Phelps is the third and last child. His mother is a high school principal. Her name is Deborah Sue “Debbie” Phelps, but she used to be Davison. Michael Fred Phelps, his father, is a retired state trooper from Maryland who played football in high school and college.
