Jeep’s smallest SUV gets a 1.2-liter engine

The smallest SUV from Jeep-Avenger is expected to be launched in Europe very soon. The SUV was unveiled earlier this month. Jeep Avenger available in both petrol and electric versions. The petrol variant of the car will get a 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine which is present in the Citroen C3. While there is no confirmation yet about the compact SUV’s launch in India, we are looking forward to it.

The Jeep Avenger SUV is based on the same modular CMP platform that is present on the Citroen C3. Aside from the platform, the Avenger’s engine is also the same as the C3. While the Citroen C3 offers a 1.2-litre NA petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, the Jeep Avenger will feature a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The Avenger’s 1.2-liter engine will offer a power output of 100 hp. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Avenger will offer FWD (Front Wheel Drive) and will offer multiple modes including Normal, Eco, Sport, Mud and Snow. In terms of design, the Avenger gets a design that is similar to that of Jeep’s other SUVs. There is a seven-slot grille between the headlights. The LED DRLs are located just above the headlights of the car. While the wheels are 18-inch alloys, the color scheme offered on the car is two-tone. The taillights get an X pattern.

As for the interior of the car, it is quite minimalistic. The cabin offers a touchscreen infotainment system along with a digital driver display, dual-zone climate control and more.

If the petrol variant of the Jeep Avenger is launched in India, it could be a game changer for Jeep. Since the Jeep Avenger shares the same platform and engine as the Citroen C3, it could be priced just under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) if launched in India. Jeep Avenger can be a capable competitor to Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and Citroen C3
