the yacht Saga40 meters long, has sunk in Squillas Bay, on the southern coast of Italy. The sinking was so rapid that it barely lasted a few minutes.
Inside the yacht was nine people, four passengers and five crew members. It was the latter who notified the Italian Coast Guard that water was entering through the stern of the boat. The yacht sailed from Gallipoli to Milazzo.
The rescue operation was activated as soon as the call was received and the nine people were transferred to another boat as the yacht completely sank in just a few minutes. There were no injuries.
During the rescue, Coast Guard agents had difficulty because the climatic conditions were very unfavorable.
Italian authorities are investigating the causes that led to the incident.
