A father from Perth delegated a valuable role to barbecue after realizing he just won a life-changing lottery prize.
North Suburb’s dad admitted he needed a moment to get himself back on his feet after scoring $ 900,000 in Saturday’s draw.
“I had my son and his girlfriend on Saturday night for dinner and thought I’d check my ticket,” he said.
“When I realized I had won the Premier League, I turned to my son and said: ‘You’ll have to take care of the barbecue, I have to sit down'”.
The Perth player was one of three Western Australians to keep a winning Division One ticket, with six Australians in total sharing Saturday’s loot.
Each Premier Division winner pocketed $ 900,000 after matching numbers 2, 6, 41, 3, 23, 42, 39 and 24.
Six West Aussies also split the Division Two prizes, taking home $ 13,000.
WA has recorded over 52 Division 1 wins in 2022 so far, more than half on Saturday Lotto.
In Thursday night’s Powerball draw, $ 20 million is up for grabs, while Saturday’s Superdraw also features a Division One prize of $ 20 million.
“We also offer Father’s Day scratch cards starting at just $ 1, so you don’t have to spend a lot for Dad to win big,” Lotterywest spokeswoman Alana Christian said.
