The National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar instructed its students not to watch Sunday’s India-Pakistan Asian Cup cricket match as a group or not to post anything on any social media platform.

In a notice issued by the Student Welfare Dean, the institution’s administration asked students to stay in their assigned rooms during the game.

The notice said: “Students are aware that cricket series from different countries take place at Dubai International Stadium. Students are requested to consider the game as a sport and not to create any kind of indiscipline in the institution / hostel. instructions are given. “

During the Sunday game, students were asked to stay in their assigned rooms and not to allow other students to enter their rooms and watch the games as a group.

“If there is a group of students watching a game in a particular hall, students assigned to that particular hall will be denied accommodation in an institution’s hostel and all students involved will be fined at least Rs 5,000. . A fine will be imposed, “the NIT said.

Students were also asked to avoid posting match-related material on social media platforms. Furthermore, they were ordered not to leave the hostel rooms during or after the game.
