Poland has extended the detention of Spanish journalist Pablo Gonzalez, who has been in prison since February

The regional court of Przemyśl, in southeastern Poland, decided to extend the detention of the Spanish journalist for another three months. Pablo Gonzalez, arrested on February 28.

“The court decided to extend the detention of Pablo Gonzalez,” the journalist’s lawyer in Poland confirmed to EFE. Bartos Rogala, who added that the court agreed with the prosecutor’s office in most premises that the Spaniard be detained.

Last week, the prosecutor’s office motivated its request with “a well-founded fear of procedural fraud, fear of hiding or running away and the fact that Gonzalez is at risk of a high sentence if convicted.”
