Paul Bettany joins Tom Hanks in Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of ‘Here’

According to someone familiar with the project, Paul Bettany has joined Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in Miramax’s “Here,” to be directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis and written by Academy Award winner Eric Roth.

Sony Pictures will distribute the film theatrically in the United States and Miramax owns the international rights. Jack Rappke’s Zemeckis and Imagemovers will produce alongside Miramax’s Bill Block.

The project will be adapted from Richard McGuire’s graphic novel, which tells the story of a journey through time and memory. The film centers on a geographic location in New England, which transforms from forest to residential property. Love, loss, struggle, hope and legacy run through generations of couples and families.

Bettany recently appeared on Amazon Studios and in the BBC’s “A Very British Scandal” alongside Claire Foy. He most recently reprized the role of “Vision” in the Disney + series “WandaVision,” which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Movie”. Previously, he played the role of “Vision” in the Marvel films “Captain America: Civil War”, “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Avengers: Infinity War”.
