Ford EcoSport flips 8 times at high speed: Keeps passengers safe [Video]

Although Ford has exited the Indian market and does not sell new cars, there are many loyal customers of the American brand in India. Ford has always been considered a brand that produces safe cars. This crash in Uttar Pradesh proves the same.

This crash was reported by Nikhil Rana and shows a grisly crash of a Ford EcoSport. The accident took place in Ramnagar and was a high-speed accident. According to the information, the EcoSport was moving at a speed of about 70 kmph when it suddenly crossed a lady on the road. She ran across the road and to save her, the car driver made a sharp right turn.

As the EcoSport was driving at high speeds, it overturned. According to the information sent by the eyewitness, the EcoSport overturned about 8 times before coming to rest in the fields. At the time of the accident, only the driver’s seat and the navigation seat were occupied, and both exited the vehicle without any scratches.

The pictures show how badly damaged the EcoSport is, but all the pillars of the car are intact and the door also opens. The airbags also deployed. Both occupants were uninjured apart from a few scratches on their arms. Both were wearing seat belts.

Jeeps tend to roll over

Due to the heavy top setup of SUVs, which is due to the high ground clearance, they tend to roll over much more than standard hatchbacks or sedans. One should be extra careful at high speeds while driving an SUV at high speed.

Global NCAP did not test the Indian Ford EcoSport, but the international version carries a four-star rating from NCAP. In Latin-NCAP in 2013, the EcoSport scored a perfect 5-star rating. The current version of the EcoSport was tested by the NHTSA in the US and the vehicle scored 4 stars out of 5. It should be noted that the specification of the EcoSport for the US is quite different from India and the country’s safety norms are very advanced and critical.

The operation of the door was quite normal and did not get stuck anywhere. Basically, when a car rolls over, the roof collapses and the doors get stuck. Therefore, it is always recommended to keep a glass breaker handy to deal with such situations.

EcoSport has not encountered such problems. It also appears that no one was injured in this incident and everyone in the EcoSport got out safely. Although the EcoSport is a very stable car, like any other SUV, it has a heavy roof. This makes SUVs prone to tipping and falling. That’s why people should be more careful when driving an SUV, especially when switching from a sedan.

The Ford EcoSport was considered one of the most robust cars in India. Although Ford has left the country and does not operate in India, the American brand still provides after-sales service to existing customers. Ford was expected to return to India with a range of CBU import models, but the brand is yet to make an official announcement about the same.
