The release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series is fast approaching. When will the episodes air?
In just under a week, Amazon Prime Video offers its subscribers a direct trip to Middle-earth with the series The Lord of the Rings: The rings of power. After five years of development and an estimated budget of over $ 400 million for the first season’s production alone, the anticipation is high among Tolkien’s admirers or only among viewers who enjoyed Peter Jackson’s adaptation.
Amazon didn’t skimp on promotional videos to satisfy their curiosity and attract new fans. Recall that the series will make us fall several centuries before the adventures of Frodo and Bilbo Saquet. While all of Middle-earth thinks Sauron is gone, Galadriel is convinced that he is in hiding before making his big return. He goes in search of him and becomes part of the legend.
This character, already introduced in Under the spell of the Ring by Peter Jackson should be of particular interest, as she is the one who should lead the story. He will be camped this time by Morfydd Clark. The actress takes over from Cate Blanchett. Galadriel won’t be the only character in Lord of the Rings to make an appearance. We also expect to find Robert Aramayo in Elrond’s skin.
As for the newcomers, it will also be about following the course of several new protagonists such as Nori camped by Markella Kavenagh or even Isildur (Maxim Alexander Baldry). Nazanin Boniadi (how I Met Your Mother) a certain Bronwyn will camp and share the screen mainly with Ismael Cruz Cordova.
On September 2nd, not one but two episodes will be offered to Prime Video subscribers. The platform gives us an appointment for the official launch at 3 am. Thereafter, the series returns at the pace of one episode per week until the end six weeks later. Episodes 3 through 8 are available from 6am. Good news for early risers in France, it will be possible to watch them before work and avoid spoilers.
In the meantime, you can already watch or re-watch Peter Jackson’s movies on Amazon Prime Video to refresh your memory a bit. Note that the series is supposed to hang chariots with the rest of the saga, but it’s not officially part of the same license. Beginners will therefore be able to discover Tolkien’s universe without problems.
