The next VR game from the hit studio Resolution Games (Blaston, Demeo) offers free mech races and other options that come with the subscription.

With Ultimechs, you wear the metallic suit of lightning-fast mechs and play a sport called Superball. The goal is to get the ball into the opponent’s goal using rocket punches. The default VR game mode is two teams of two, but it also supports duels.

“When we designed Ultimechs, we tried to keep in mind what was going to happen create a new sport that people will love to play and watch years from now, “says Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of the studio.” Ultimechs combines the excitement, drama and atmosphere of traditional sports and makes the action quick and easy to understand, with lots of space for great power plays and intelligent strategies “.

Ultimechs will be free-to-play

The scheduled release date for the free game is September 15th. Can’t wait to play on Meta Quest 2 (review) (sorry, Quest 1 owners) and Pico headphones (review) or on Steam.

Resolution Games earns money with free play via “Ultipass”. The the season pass offers cosmetic upgrades and customization options for your mechs. We anticipate more information on pricing and content ahead of the launch.

Those who own a PC and want to try Ultimechs before launch will have the opportunity to do so from August 25-28. The studio hosts a weekend preview on Steam for team and solo players. A new gameplay video (see above) introduces game mechanics and offers tips from an Ultimechs developer.
