Transfer Deadline Day LIVE! Chelsea to announce double deal; Lewis at Arsenal

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have been among the biggest spenders throughout the summer, but on the final day of the transfer window they could all make new signings. The Gunners are looking to further strengthen their midfield and have failed with THREE bids for Douglas Luiz – and will not sign Danilo after exploring this deal. Hector Bellerin is in talks with Barcelona for a free transfer.

Chelsea have agreed a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Marcos Alonso heading to Barcelona in a player-plus-money deal. The Blues will miss Memphis Depay but have had better luck with Denis Zakaria, with the Swiss midfielder passing his medical after missing out on Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez and PSG superstar Neymar.

Tottenham have opted not to sign Dan James, with Fulham now set to loan the Leeds man out, but could bring in Manchester City star Adedire Mebude. Brian Gill will only leave if a replacement is found. Follow all the latest transfer news, rumors and gossip on Transfer Deadline Day with Standard Sport’s LIVE blog below!

Brentford last

Standard Sport’s Malik Uzia brings us an update from west London: “In a somewhat surprising move, Brentford have allowed defender Mads Bech Sorensen to join Nice on loan.

“The Dane featured heavily at the end of last season and with injuries to Ethan Pinnock, Christopher Ayer and Pontus Jansson, Thomas Frank was not blessed with options at centre-back at the start of the new campaign.

“However, Ben Mee has arrived on a free from Burnley and Zanka is back, so when everyone is ready, Sorensen would find a fair way down the table.

“The Bees appear to have taken a few short-term risks to ensure the 23-year-old’s continued development.”
