Cuttack: Earlier today, a viral video that went viral on various social media platforms showing two youths tying a man to their two-wheeler and dragging him across a busy road was arrested by the police this evening here in Odisha.
The accused have been identified as Sheikh Hussain and Sheikh Chotu of the city.
The victim reportedly borrowed money from Hussain and Chotu.
As the victim failed to return the money on time, the accused duo tied the victim behind their two-wheeler and dragged the victim through the busy city road for 2 kilometers (km).
The video of the incident was captured by a passer-by and spread like wildfire on various social networks. Soon the police swung into action to nab the accused.
However, this evening the police arrested the accused duo and sent them to court, Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishar informed.
Meanwhile, questions continue to arise regarding the presence of traffic police at the post at the time of the incident.
Further, the DCP also informed that he has deputed a senior police officer to investigate the matter further.
