Phil Jones has been left out of Manchester United’s 25-man Premier League squad for the 2022/23 season, meaning he may have played his last league game for the club.

The England international has clearly not caught the eye of new manager Eric Tan Haag and his absence from the official squad means he cannot feature in the Premier League at all this campaign for United.

He can still feature in cup competitions and will be hoping to be given the opportunity to do so, but clearly out of the Ten Hag’s plans, the 30-year-old may have played his last game for the club.

Jones’ contract at Old Trafford expires next year and although the club have the option of extending him for another season, that seems unlikely.

The likes of Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams made the 25-man squad ahead of Jones, while United opted to name four goalkeepers, including Nathan Bishop.
