Roswell, New Mexico is returning for a fourth season on The CW, and like the previous seasons, season 4 will also come to Netflix, but only in the United States and only when the series ends its run. Once again, the show is part of the summer lineup for the US network and therefore won’t be coming to Netflix until at least September 2022.
If you’ve never dived into the series before, it’s an adaptation (the second to hit our screens) of Melinda Metz’s novel. The CW series began airing in 2019, with all three seasons now streaming on Netflix US. The final season hit Netflix in October 2021.
Season 4 of Roswell, New Mexico was confirmed by The CW before season 3 even started airing, but it was also confirmed to be the final season among a bunch of other shows from The CW. In fact, while 12 The CW shows are coming to Netflix in 2022, that will drop to 3 in 2023.
Season 4 production began as early as August 2021, with filming locations for the new season taking place in e Espanola, Moriarty, Bernalillo, Las Vegas, Pecos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and the pueblos San Felipe and Santo Domingo in New Mexico. Filming was supposed to wrap up by January 2022.
When does Roswell, New Mexico air on The CW?
Before coming to Netflix, the series will have to air in its entirety on The CW.
Given the production schedule and the fact that the series has been confirmed to come to The CW as part of the network’s summer lineup. It will air at the same time as In The Dark, with new episodes premiering on June 6.
Season 3 was also pushed to July from the usual January and March premiere window.
As always, the best way to watch new episodes of Roswell, New Mexico as they air, it’s either a live tune-in or watch on The CW app a few hours after the show airs, but the episodes don’t stay there long.

Roswell New Mexico Season 4 Netflix Release Date
As mentioned, Netflix in the US is getting new seasons of Roswell, New Mexico about a week or so after their completion.
With the final episode scheduled to air on September 5, 2022, we are currently waiting last season of Roswell, New Mexico to arrive on September 14, 2022.
We have yet to hear an official date, as the show was noticeably absent from the September 2022 release list.
We’ll keep this updated as we learn more, but for now, this is the best window we have into Season 4 of Roswell, New Mexico.
Is Roswell, New Mexico Coming to Netflix Internationally?
We’re often asked about the chances of Netflix acquiring international rights to Roswell, New Mexico. Unfortunately, the show remains unsold in most regions.
Instead, we expect the series to be one of HBO Max’s flagship shows as it rolls out around the world (it recently hit mainland Europe and Latin America, for example).
Those who are patient can probably overcome its lack internationally by using a VPN, but it’s not something we actively recommend.
