On first place! Kanpur prohibits the breeding of Pitbull, Rottweiler dogs

Kanpur: The Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has passed a resolution to ban the breeding of Pitbull and Rottweiler dogs in the city.

Anyone keeping either breed will be fined up to Rs 5,000 and their “pet” will be confiscated, the resolution said.

Official sources said that the decision has already been sent to the Municipal Commissioner, who will issue a formal order in this regard.

After repeated incidents of dog attacks, the KMC decided to ban the two breeds considered dangerous.

According to KMC sources, if anyone is found breeding or selling dogs of these two breeds, they will be penalized and the dog will be confiscated.

The resolution says that people do not have a large enough residence or farm to keep dogs of exotic fearsome species, which is why they get stressed and attack people.

“To protect the public from attack, the fearsome breeds of Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are prohibited within city limits,” it added.

Additional municipal commissioner Suryakant Tripathi said, “Breeding of dogs of both species for domestication and trade is prohibited in urban areas. If anyone illegally keeps such dogs within the municipal limits, he will be fined Rs 5,000 and the dog will also be confiscated.

After incidents of Pitbull attacks in Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Meerut, Pitbull recently attacked a cow at Sarsaiya Ghat in Kanpur.

The video of the incident in Kanpur has gone viral on social media.
