Repeat the film review in Telugu: Naveen Chandra, a talented actor, was only noted for his work in a small number of big hits. One such new release is the “Repeat” movie, which can be seen on the Disney + Hotstar OTT platform starting August 25th. He has landed several prominent leadership roles in films and web series that have only been distributed online. We begin to understand if this film is worth your time.
A novelist turns to the police to claim that he was threatened with death because he wrote a novel that featured the criminal responsible for a series of crimes committed in the city a few months ago. The police probably think he is drunk, so they ignore him. The next day, a girl goes missing, just as the author had predicted. The DGP’s daughter went missing, so an undercover cop was in charge of the investigation. What transpires and what emerges as a result of this research constitutes the rest of the story.

The opening sequences of the film are well written and direct and immediately captivate us. The film invests time in making us worry about the main people and the problems they face. After Naveen Chandra is introduced as an undercover detective, the film’s plot and narrative keep you captivated. There are times when the scenes seem mundane and predictable and the PGP story provides a clear indication of what might have happened and what might happen next during the investigation.
Naveen Chandra gave an excellent performance as a detective. Former actress Madhoo Shah (aka Madhubala) is a complete and utter failure as a DGP. The interpretation of her is always exaggerated and unrealistic. Achyuth Kumar, who plays the writer, is credible in the role, and the rest of the cast did what he had to do to move the story forward.
The technical aspects of the film seem solid. The score composed and performed by Ghibran is essential to set the appropriate tone for each scene. Most of the film is made up of static shots, and while none of them are particularly noteworthy, they can’t be ignored because the lighting specifies the mood essential to the suspense. In general, the production values are satisfactory.
Director Aravindh Srinivasan did a fantastic job of capturing audience interest in the opening moments. However, there were a couple of scenes in the second act of the film that he had trouble with.
Repetition is an exciting and fun movie in every way. The interesting idea will have your interest until the end.
