Netflix just unveiled its Fall 2022 lineup, and a few notable omissions mean some of its biggest 2022 movies have been pushed to 2023. Let’s break down which ones will no longer debut this year.
These films were originally discovered in Netflix‘s 2022 background document, which was copied and pasted into Variety in February 2022.
So let’s break down the 10 movies that will now be released in 2023 (or possibly beyond) instead of 2022, exclusively on Netflix:
- Ape-man – This one went off the schedule for 2022 a bit earlier in the year, but confirmation today that there’s no chance of it being released this year. The new film comes from Dev Patel who is the writer, director and star. It tells the story of an ex-criminal released in India who struggles to adjust to a world full of greed and eroding spiritual values.
- Rustin – Just finished shooting, Rustin would be a long shot to make the list for 2022. Colman Domingo will play Bayard Rustin in this new Obama-produced biopic.
- Cosmonaut – Starring Adam Sandler, this sci-fi adaptation from director Johan Renck is now officially confirmed to be moving into 2023.
- The legacy – This horror was among the original lineup for 2022. This horror was directed by Alejandro Bruges, about a billionaire who invites his children home for fear that he will die.

- The mother – One of the many films from Jennifer Lopez to Netflix is extremely The mother. The film is front and center in the 2022 teaser above, but doesn’t appear on the Fall 2022 slate. The film is about a hit man who comes out of hiding to protect his daughter who left early in my life.
- The mother ship – Coming from writer-director Matt Charman, this film is headlined by Halle Berry and is also included in this original video from 2022. The sci-fi film also stars Molly Parker and Omari Hardwick.
- The pale blue eye – It’s safe to say that this one hasn’t been pushed, given that it’s set for a limited theatrical release in December 2022, but its Netflix release will be in early January 2023. The new film has Christian Bale.

- They cloned Tyrone – Jamie Foxx, John Boyega and Teyonah Parris headline this new sci-fi comedy for Netflix, which unfortunately seems to have been dropped from the 2022 schedule. The film comes from director Jewel Taylor and is about a trio lost deep in a government conspiracy .
- We have a ghost – Coming from Legendary Entertainment, this upcoming family film looks like it might not be released in 2022. The Christopher Landon film stars David Harbor and Jennifer Coolidge.

- You people – Also not on the 2022 roster You people by Kenya Barris. Instead, the big ensemble comedy film looks set to arrive in 2023.
