Mexican stock market falls slightly ahead of Fed minutes

Equity markets in Mexico are trading at a loss in early Wednesday trading. Local equity indices fell in a market under pressure from weak US retail sales data and ahead of Fed minutes.

the main index S & P / BMV IPC of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which brings together the 35 most traded shares in the domestic market, lost 0.10% to 48,752.31 units. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional stock exchange (Biva), lost 0.11% to 1,013.13 points.

Within the reference index, most of the values ​​are trading at a loss, with 25 components in red and 10 in green. The best performances are for the Volaris stock, with 2.26%; Industrias Peñoles, with 2.89%, and Grupo Televisa, with 1.69%.

“Negative movements prevail on the equity markets due to the growing uncertainty about the extent of the monetary tightening of central banks, in particular the Fed, which weighs more on investor mood”, explained Grupo Financiero Banorte.
