Meghan Markle glows in £245 cream knit cardigan from LA fashion label Anine Bing

Meghan Markle glowed in a white ensemble as she arrived in Germany hand-in-hand with husband Prince Harry for the Invictus Games event this afternoon.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, who currently lives in the US after stepping back from her royal duties, attended the event with the Duke to mark the one-year countdown to the 2023 Games, which were postponed due to the pandemic.

The royal mother-of-two looked elegant in a £245 cream knit cardigan by Los Angeles-based designer Anine Bing, which she teamed with a pair of £1,040 wide-leg beige wool-blend trousers by Brandon Maxwell.

The white neckline top was reminiscent of the Duchess’s second wedding dress, which had a similar neckline. Fittingly, it was the 2017 Invictus Games where Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance.

Los Angeles-based designer Annin has proven to be a favorite of the Duchess over the past year, with the royal choosing to step out in pieces from the brand on several occasions.

And Brandon Maxwell has become another of the royals’ favorite brands. The American designer, who has also dressed the likes of Michelle Obama, has enjoyed phenomenal sales success since Meghan started wearing his clothes in 2018.

She first stepped out in a headline-grabbing mustard yellow dress in July 2018, before choosing his designs throughout her time as senior royal and beyond.

Meanwhile, the Duchess pulled her dark locks back from her neck into a sleek bun for the occasion.

She teamed the top with simple, elegant earrings and opted for a bit of eyeliner, blush and lip gloss to bring out her natural beauty.

Meanwhile, the Duchess wore her $7,000 Cartier Tank Française watch, which she bought herself while filming US legal drama Suits, along with her $6,555 Cartier Love bracelet.

Harry and Meghan arrived in Dusseldorf today after being pictured leaving Frogmore Cottage earlier this morning.

Last night the couple stayed in Windsor, which was their permanent home until they left the UK to live in LA.

They were just half a mile from Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children, who recently moved there from London – but the brothers are not expected to meet amid reports of a deep rift. The couple attended the One World Summit yesterday – with Meghan opting for a stunning scarlet Another Tomorrow blouse costing £471, teamed with wide leg trousers in the same colour.

Harry and Meghan, who stepped down as senior members of the royal family in early 2020, are on their first trip to Europe since June, when they returned to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations

She wore the outfit to address the crowd at Manchester’s One Young World summit, held at Bridgewater Hall, where she gave a seven-minute speech on gender equality.

The Duchess of Sussex delivered the speech to young leaders from more than 190 countries in her role as an adviser to One Young World, and it was her first personal speech in the UK since she and Harry stepped down as senior royals in early 2020.

Megan recalled the moment she was asked to take on the role in One Young World and described it as a “pinch-pinching moment”.

She said: “And here I am, the Suits girl. I was surrounded by world leaders, humanitarians, prime ministers and activists for whom I had such deep and long-standing respect and admiration. And they let me in, to take a seat at the table.

“I was so blown away by that experience, I think, I think I even kept my little paper place marker with my name on it. Just proof: proof that I was there, proof that I belonged, because the truth was I wasn’t sure I belonged.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised royal fans with their eco-friendly decision to take the train from London Euston to Manchester for the summit – after previously being criticized for flying on private jets.

The summit marked the first event in the Duke and Duchess’ whirlwind European trip – with the couple starting the second leg of their ‘lite’ royal tour in Düsseldorf, Germany, today.

The couple will meet officials and competitors at next year’s Invictus Games event to mark the one-year countdown to the event, which will be the sixth of its kind since Prince Harry, 38, founded the games in 2014.

The Duke of Sussex, who served in the British Army for a decade, founded the games as a place for wounded and ill servicemen and women to compete in an arena that allows them to show they are not limited by their injuries.

He was inspired to organize the Invictus Games after observing a similar event, the Warrior Games, in the US state of Colorado in 2013, in which competitors were wounded servicemen and women.

The 2023 Games in Düsseldorf will be held at the Merkur Spiel-Arena – and have been postponed until next year due to the Covid pandemic.

Meghan and Harry will make a quick stop in Germany before returning to the UK on Thursday to attend the WellChild Awards, a charity Harry has been a patron of for several years.
