Man with crossbow ‘wanted to kill Queen’

A man arrested with a crossbow at Queen Elizabeth’s home at Windsor Castle on Christmas day last year said: “I’m here to kill the Queen,” a UK court heard.

Jaswant Singh Chail, 20, accused of British treason, appeared in Windsor Castle grounds wearing a balaclava and mask, court heard Wednesday.

A cop said he looked like someone from a vigilante movie.

The queen was at the castle at the time of the December 25 incident, along with her son and apparent heir Prince Charles, his wife Camilla and other close family members.

Following a terrorist police investigation, Chail was charged with death threats, possession of an offensive weapon and a felony under Section 2 of the Treason Act 1842.

This section details the penalties for “unloading or aiming firearms, or throwing or using any offensive material or weapon, with the intent to injure or alarm Her Majesty”.

In a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court in London, Chail, of Southampton in southern England, said he wanted to take revenge on the establishment.
