Jump Crypto To Make Solana Validator Client Software To Enhance Performance

The Solana Network and Jump Crypto have recently teamed up to improve the stability of the Solana Network.

The Solana network, especially this year, has fallen prey to numerous interruptions and network congestions that have often caused network slowdowns.

Jump Crypto, a developer and investor of Web3 infrastructure, has decided to partner with its efforts to improve decentralization and help improve the overall performance of the Solana network.

Jump Crypto will now create validation client software for the blockchain platform.

This open source validation client is called Firedancer and will be based on the C ++ programming language.

The software will provide an alternative to Rust-based software that drives the current validation client managed by the Solana network.

Jump Crypto is a renowned player in the industry and is a subsidiary of Jump Trading based in Chicago. It has substantial investments spread throughout the industry which also includes Solana related projects.

Jump Crypto calls the initiative “wildly ambitious”

Jump Crypto president Kanav Kariya called the validator client initiative “wildly ambitious”. Jump Trading Chief Science Officer Kevin Bowers is currently overseeing the development of the new validation client.

Kevin Bowers stated,

Through decades of Jump’s work in solving some of the most complex network challenges in traditional financial markets, we’ve seen firsthand the impact that improving the speed and efficiency of a network can have on an entire financial system. Now, given the relatively slow speeds and unreliability of blockchain networks, there is an incredible opportunity to transform the functionality and effectiveness of these networks.

For those who are not experts, validators play a very important role in proof-of-stake blockchains like Solana. It helps to certify the genuineness of the transaction linked to the blockchain.

For someone to act as a validator, they are required to possess a necessary amount of Solana’s native currency called SOL and validate in a way that benefits the network.

Various Solana validators such as Coinbase Cloud and Jump Crypto are also known to offer staking services that allow smaller users to add SOL to the validator pool.

This way they also have the opportunity to earn shared rewards by validators for providing the service.

Solana Network throughput increase

Firedancer’s goal is to improve and increase the throughput of the Solana network, which is the speed at which transactions are processed. This increase in Solana network throughput will positively impact efficiency and resilience over the next year with increases over the same time frame.

Solana’s spokesperson quoted,

Put simply, Solana Labs has a team of engineers that focus solely on creating what has been the only software in the world capable of running the Solana network. Now there will be a second whole initiative that can coexist and make the Solana network work as well.

In the announcement of the new validation client, Jump Crypto said that this project was aimed at accelerating the adoption of Solana by making further technical improvements to its network.

It’s a matter of time before the above claims about the network’s effectiveness prove to be true considering Solana Lab’s frequent idle numbers may decrease.
