American talk show host and Republican political commentator Sean Patrick Hannity was born on December 30, 1961. Since 2009, he has also hosted a commentary show called Hannity on Fox News. His talk radio show, The Sean Hannity Show, is globally syndicated.
In 1989, while attending UC Santa Barbara, Hannity worked as a general contractor and volunteered as a talk show host. He eventually went to work for WVNN in Athens, Alabama and subsequently for WGST in Atlanta. He moved to WABC in New York after leaving WGST and remained there until 2013. For WOR Radio, Hannity has worked since 2014.
Sean Hannity’s Early Life
On December 30, 1961, Sean Patrick Hannity was born in New York. He spent his childhood in the nearby community of Franklin Square, New York. His mother, Lillian, worked in a county jail as a stenographer and jail clerk, and his father, Hugh, worked as a caseworker in the family court system.
He is the youngest of four siblings. He is of Irish descent; all four of his grandparents moved to the United States from Ireland. Saint Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, New York is where he completed his high school education. He then resumed his studies at New York University, UC Santa Barbara, and Adelphi University, but did not receive a degree from any of these institutions.
In 1982, Hannity started his own venture in the home painting industry. A few years later, he moved to Santa Barbara, California, and began working as a construction contractor there. While living in California in 1989, he was given the opportunity to host his first talk radio show on the volunteer campus station KCSB-FM, which is affiliated with UC Santa Barbara.
However, after less than a year on air, his weekly show was canceled due to controversy surrounding the “controversial” way in which LGBT rights were discussed on the show. This issue led to the cancellation. After leaving KCSB, Hannity joined WVNN in Athens, Alabama as their afternoon talk show host. Then, in 1992, he moved to WGST in Atlanta.
Personal life of Sean Hannity
In 1993, Hannity married Jill Rhodes. They have two children as a result of their union and currently split their time between Long Island, New York and Naples, Florida with their family. In June 2020, it was revealed that Sean and Jill had actually divorced the previous year.
He is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, but no longer attends Mass in a Catholic church because he believes there is “too much institutionalized corruption.”
