AN AIRLINE employee has revealed the gross reason you should never wear shorts or a skirt when traveling on a plane.
Suezanna, who goes by the name suezannaj on TikTok, revealed why after conducting an experiment in the cabin.

In her video, she rubs the seats of an airplane before placing the bacteria in a petri dish and showing the results of her experiment on TikTok.
In the video, she said: “I wanted to see how dirty those airplane seats were, so I set out to do a test.
“There you go – airplane seats are dirty as hell.
“Why are there so many different types of bacteria just on this seat? Why is it so cloudy?”
Suezanna then warned people not to wear clothes that would put your skin in contact with those seats and urged people to disinfect themselves before sitting down.
She said: “It just makes you think about all the people who wear sleeved shirts or short shorts on a plane or those really short skirts.
“Your skin touches those dirty seats. Clean the seats before sitting on them.
The video gave some people the proof they needed to see to justify their in-flight behavior.
One said: “This is the main reason I always wear long sleeves and trousers. I could never prove it, but now I have the proof, thank you.
A former airline employee also commented on the video, explaining how rare it is for seats to be cleaned.
They said, “I’ve worked for airlines and they don’t clean the seats unless someone throws up and it shows.”
However, not everyone was as disgusted by what they had seen, with one person saying it was probably nothing to worry about.
They wrote: “Super fascinating and I’d definitely wipe my seat too, but our body’s immune system is strong enough to take care of that sort of thing usually.”
Many flight attendants have warned against wearing shorts on planes before, saying the seats are rarely cleaned.
Another airline employee on TikTok, Tommy Cimato, said: “Don’t wear or try to wear shorts when on a plane.
“You never know how clean it’s going to be, so if you have pants [trousers]you’ll have fewer germs.”
