Easier jobs in the world: new Bochum coach

Thomas Letsch began his job as Bochum manager, saying he and the lower Bundesliga club players must do everything possible to avoid relegation from the top flight.

Bochum have only collected one point from their first seven league games. The poor start to the season led to the departure of Thomas Reis and the appointment of Letsch, the last coach of the Dutch team of Vitesse.

Letsch, who has a two-year contract, admitted on Monday that “there are easier jobs in the world”, but promised that “we must do everything to keep the club in the Bundesliga”.

“The fascination of working in this club is enormous. I feel absolutely in the right place, “she said.

Bochum president Hans-Peter Villis said Letsch “will significantly help us get the team back to playing as we knew it” and added that “we want to shape the future together with Thomas Letsch”.

Letsch’s first match in office is a tough away match on Saturday against RB Leipzig.
