Climate change and war are putting crops and farmers at risk

How long does the food take? The farmers’ association does not dare to forecast beyond the first quarter of next year. The current crop is better than last year, but still below average.

The good news first: The German wine of the 2022 vintage will be excellent. Apples look just as good. Otherwise, however, the ongoing drought is a problem for German farmers. Their 2022 crop is mixed. Some yields are higher than last year, but lower than in the long term, while others have fallen significantly. Unlike previous years, farmers are not demanding compensation this time. Instead, they look to the future with anxiety.
