BMW 3 Series prices increased by up to $10,000 with update

The BMW 3 Series midlife upgrade will go on sale in Australia from October with a number of improvements, along with strong price increases for model year 2023.

The price hikes come after another batch of hikes we reported in August of this year, which included the pre-LCI Series 3.

Highlighting the changes are subtle design updates, new lights, the latest BMW infotainment system with new screens and a handful of additional features.

But BMW’s entry-level 320i sedan now costs $ 5,400 more than the 2022 model at a starting price of $ 78,900 before road tolls.

The entry price for the current 320i when it was announced in June 2019 was $ 64,900, which means the opening price has gone up nearly 22% in about three years.

The 320i’s new opening move matches the starting price of its rival Mercedes-Benz C200, the cost of which also increased significantly with the launch of a new model earlier this year.

The BMW 330i Sedan and Touring, which sell by volume, are up $ 10,100 over their 2022 models, to $ 93,400 and $ 97,400 before road costs, respectively.

The BMW 330e PHEV is up $ 7,100 over the MY22 model, at RRP $ 97,400.

The top-of-the-range model of the BMW M340i xDrive (apart from the M3) is another matter: previously, BMW offered the “Pure” M340i xDrive and the better equipped M340i xDrive, while now it only offers one variant.

At $ 104,900, the latest M340i xDrive is reasonably $ 1,300 more than the older Pure grade and $ 8,700 less than the entire MY22 M340i xDrive.
