Apple’s slowest iPhone charger, Apple’s 5W USB Power Adapter, is no longer available for purchase in some countries around the world.
Joe Rossignol for MacRumors:
As noted by the Japanese blog Mac Otakara, the 5W charger is currently out of stock in Apple’s online store in Japan. With a quick spot check, we found that the charger is either exhausted or completely removed even on Apple’s online store in Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China and many other countries.
Apple continues to sell the 5W charger for $ 19 in the United States, as well as Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, and a few other countries.
Unlike Apple’s new USB-C chargers, the 5W charger has a USB-A port and is unable to recharge quickly.
MacDailyNews takes: Farewell, anachronism!
Note: Apple stopped including a charger in the box with iPhones starting with the release of the iPhone 12 on October 23, 2020.
