Anand Mahindra has a message for overthinkers, shares podcast

Industrialist Anand Mahindra is quite active on social media. He often shares his thoughts and opinions on what is happening in the world. He recently shared a clip from a podcast featuring Ricky Nuttall, a London firefighter suffering from PTSD who shared the challenges he faces in life. Yet another post by the Mahindra Group chairman has gone viral for all the right reasons.

In the 46-second clip, when the podcast host asks Nutall for advice to overthinkers, he mentions a quote that helped him get through a rough patch.

He said: “A quote that has helped me immeasurably is from a book called The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse (by Chalie Mackesy). And one of my favorite quotes from the entire book is a boy and a horse are in the woods. And the boy said to the horse: I see no way. And the horse says: do you see your next step? And the boy says yes. The horse says: then just take this.

Nuttall continued, “All the time we look at the goal, we look at the future, we look at the end game, we look at how long a journey is and we feel crushed. Instead, just go: right, I won’t worry about it, because it will come. With every step you get closer to it, so I don’t have to worry about how far it is. All I have to focus on right now is my next step.”

Anand shared the post with the caption “Live in the present. Especially when we face temporary challenges. One day at a time; Step by Step.”

So far, the video has garnered more than 288 thousand views and tons of comments.
