Amit Shah will inaugurate smart schools in Ahmedabad today in Gujarat

Amit Shah will also inaugurate the 6th All India Jail Duty Meet in Ahmedabad during the day.

Ahmedabad:

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah will launch the anthem and mascot of the 36th National Games on Sunday and inaugurate smart schools in Ahmedabad municipality.

During the day, the 6th All India Jail Duty Meet will also be inaugurated in Ahmedabad.

Shri Shah will first inaugurate the smart schools in Ahmedabad municipality.

In the evening, he will participate in the curtain-raising program of the 36th National Games-2022 alongside Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Gujarat Prime Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The event will officially kick off at Eka Arena TransStadia, a multipurpose stadium in Ahmedabad where over 9,000 guests from across the state are expected.

The curtain will unveil the National Games anthem and mascot, as well as a customized website and mobile app. The event will also mark the conclusion of the 11th Khel Mahakumbh, a sporting event organized by the Gujarat government.

The National Games are organized after a seven-year hiatus.

This year, the Games will be held from 29 September to 12 October with a track cycling event in six cities in Gujarat and New Delhi.

Around 7,000 athletes from all over the country will compete in 36 different disciplines.

Mr. Shah will also attend the 6th All India Jail Duty Meet during the day, which will be attended by CM Patel and Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi.

The biennial meeting is hosted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development from 4 to 6 September.
