Television Academy voters have the chance to right years of wrongs at this year’s 74th Emmy Awards, airing on NBC and streaming on Peacock on September 12. Sandra Oh, nominated once again for Killing Yves, has 13 Emmy nominations over the years, but has yet to take home Emmy gold. Issa Rae, in competition for her work on Uncertain, has 8 nominations but zero wins. And for the love of Goodman, someone please give an Emmy to Better call Sol?
Yes Better call Sol received seven more Emmy nominations this year, bringing its total to 46, and unless it wins a category this year or next, it could go down in television history as one of the most Emmy-nominated losers. Rare is a spinoff that lives up to its predecessor, but Better call Sol took a fan favorite scene stealer from In Satan’s shoesSaul Goodman to Bob Odenkirk and turned him into a Walter White-level anti-hero.
