2022 WSBK: Hafizh Syahrin crashes at Magny-Cours – paultan.org

Bad luck for MIE Racing at the 2022 World Superbike Championship (WSBK) round at Mangy-Cours, France, as Malaysian rider Hafij Syahrin crashed in Race 2 on Sunday. Syahrin was in pursuit to finish just inside the points for sixteenth when a crash on lap 13 dropped him to nineteenth.

This came after the MIE Racing Honda CRB100RR-R driven by Syahrin’s teammate Leandro ‘Tati’ Mercado failed to finish due to technical problems. Lamenting the crash as he felt his Honda had speed, Siahrin said: “We were very, very close to the points zone in Race 2 today and I thought I could gain a point or two again but unfortunately, with about six laps to go.”

“I lost the front at turn 13. I took the bike, but of course I missed the chance to finish in the top 15,” Syakhrin added. The action moves to Spain at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit on the weekend of September 23 for round eight of the WSBK.
