Mystery as a mother, aged 38, was found dead in her home by her husband

A “BEAUTIFUL” mother-of-three was tragically found dead in her home by her husband, an inquest heard.

Mystery still surrounds the death of Laura Crabtree, 38, after she was discovered by her husband Melvin at their Darbyshire property.

Seven months later, the circumstances surrounding her untimely death on February 10 this year remain unclear.

An inquest into the death of Laura, who was described by friends as an “earthly angel”, is now underway at Chesterfield Coroner’s Court.

It was reported to the Coroner’s Office by Derbyshire Police.

Assistant Coroner Miss Susan Evans told the hearing that a number of substances were found in the mother’s body, reports DerbyshireLive.

This includes the powerful pain reliever morphine and prescription drugs commonly used to treat anxiety and major depression.

Her body was officially identified by her husband Melvin, who found her lifeless at their family home in Chaddesdon.

The 38-year-old’s death was described as a multi-drug poisoning death following initial investigations.

But Miss Evans insisted further reports were needed before a full investigation could be launched to help piece together her final hours.

She adjourned the inquest until November 22 in the hope of getting more details about the circumstances surrounding Laura’s sudden death.

Friends and family paid tribute to the “wonderful” mum in an online book of condolence launched by friends.

One wrote: “You have created a beautiful family without really knowing it.

“That’s called an earth angel, I know you’ll always take care of them.”

Another added: ‘Heartbroken Laura.

“You’ve been my rock through some really tough times and I’ll never forget all the laughs we had.

“Your laugh was infectious and I will never forget it.”

Laura is survived by her three children and her husband, Melvin.
