Youth arrested for Rs 6 lakh nude video call scam in Gajapati

Gajapati: The youth who reportedly swindled Rs. 6 lakh over a nude Whats App video call by a government employee was detained by the police in Odisha today.

The accused has been identified as V. Nikhilesh, a resident and dropout student of a private college at Gunapur in Rayagada district.

According to reports, Nikhilesh extorted Rs.6 lakh from the unmarried civil servant during a nude video call. Nikhilesh further threatened to make the video call public.

Later on September 24, the victim filed a complaint on the matter at the Serang Police Station.

Soon, the police started an investigation into the case on the complaint of the victim.

However, today the police have nabbed the accused Nikhilesh. The police also seized six mobile phones, two ATMs, two bank passbooks and cash of Rs. 2 lakh 98 thousand from his possession.

During further investigation, the police learned that a gang was already involved with Nikhilesh. In addition, the police also suspect the involvement of women in the gang.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a serious investigation into the case to nab the remaining members of the gang.

It should be noted that the police referred Nikhilesh to court after his arrest.
