Kojima Productions presents virtual reality at the Tokyo Game Show VR exhibit. Is Hideo Kojima’s studio announcing a Playstation VR experience?
Before the Corona pandemic, the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) was the third largest video game show after E3 and Gamescom. The show continues to expand into the virtual world as well: like last year, there will be a virtual reality exhibit in addition to the physical event in Chiba, Japan. It can be visited with VR viewers from 15 to 18 September 2022, the same period as the physical event.
Among the exhibitors at the VR show are well-known companies in the video game industry, including Square Enix, Sega / Atlus, Bandai Namco, Capcom and Konami. Some well-known names in the VR industry are also represented: already confirmed are Survios (known for the boxing game Creed: Rise to Glory), Character Bank (recently released the action RPG Ruinsmagus) and the Japanese adventure game DISCRONIA. : Alternative Chronos.
Kojima is unveiling a game for Playstation VR 2?
Kojima Productions, the studio of Hideo Kojima, creator of the legendary Metal Gear Solid stealth series, has also been confirmed for VR TGS. “Stay tuned to see how virtual space will evolve,” Kojima’s team wrote in tweet announcing the Tokyo Game Show VR.
Kojima is a VR enthusiast and has been talking regularly since 2016 about wanting to develop for VR. At the end of 2019, the game designer confirmed his interest in him, but so far he hasn’t found the time.
Rumors of Kojima Productions’ unusual VR experience for PlayStation VR 2 were last heard earlier this year. They have not yet been confirmed. VR TGS would be a suitable setting for a revelation.
Tokyo Game Show VR: Virtual Reality Game Fair
Makuhari Messe, the organizer of the Tokyo Game Show VR, also announced VR TGS: The theme of the VR exhibition apparently revolves around a mysterious dungeon where visitors can enjoy an interactive VR experience.
At the start of the exhibition, the VR app needed for this will be linked to the TGS 2022 VR website. Last year, the virtual gaming venue “GAME FLOAT” could be visited via VR and via a PC monitor.
