Despite her protestations of innocence, Remy was found guilty of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and attempted coercion and sentenced to eight years in prison. After serving six years in prison, she was released early and became a free woman in 2016. As of August 1, 2019, she was no longer under post-release supervision.
