Two important guests were not seen at Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on Monday. While both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in attendance, with the Duke of Sussex attending many professionals covering the historic day, their son and daughter named Archie and Lilibeth, both of whom were not present at either event of their great-grandmother’s death.

Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, said on Monday: “I think we will probably see the Sussexes on their way back to America very soon. Of course their children are there. It’s been quite some time since Harry and Meghan have been away from their children as they both made it to Manchester, England last month on September 5th to attend the One Young World Summit.

Harry and Meghan joined his older brother Prince William and daughter-in-law Kate Middleton in the United Kingdom outside Windsor Castle to greet mourners during ongoing events for the Queen’s passing. Both brothers also attended the emotional farewell as the Queen’s coffin lay in state at Westminster Hall over the weekend.

Then on Monday, Harry and Meghan attended the Queen’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey. In the procession, Harry walked from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch behind the Queen’s coffin, while Meghan rode in a car with the Countess of Wessex, Sophie.

The couple then returned to St George’s Chapel, where they had their royal wedding in 2018, but this time for Her Majesty’s casket funeral.

While Archie and Lilibeth did not attend the Queen’s death, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, were seen attending the funeral on Monday. Charlotte even sat next to her uncle at St George’s Chapel after Prince William asked the Sussexes to sit in the same seat as his family.

Well, there’s a poignant moment for the royal family following the Queen’s death. King Charles III became the new monarch and was emotional at the Queen’s funeral. He reportedly returned to Balmoral Castle, where the Queen died, to spend some time alone after the funeral.
