WhatsApp lets you edit sent messages if you meet this requirement

A few months ago we informed you that WhatsApp is already working on a feature that will allow us to modify the messages sent. A dynamic that can be practiced on several occasions, whether to modify some data, correct a word or expand information.

As seen in some previews, to use this feature we just have to long press on the message and select “Edit” from the menu options. After making the change, we can resend the message.

And now we know new details of this feature, which is still under development.

Here’s how you can edit the messages sent on WhatsApp

As mentioned in WABetaInfo, WhatsApp shows our chat contact that we have edited the message, with a label “Modified”. This way, all participants in the call will know that an error or information in the message has been changed.

Another fact that we already know about this new dynamic that WhatsApp is preparing is that the user only has a maximum of 15 minutes from the moment of sending to edit his message.

In general, therefore, this new feature follows the same rules that WhatsApp applies to the features already available in the app. For example, giving a limited time to “repent” and turn the tables, as in the case of the messages we have deleted.

Or how it happens when we perform an action in a chat or in a group. For example, if we leave the group, WhatsApp will automatically show a message informing the rest of the members, or if we delete a message, a message like “This message has been deleted” will appear.

Please note that this feature is still under development, so its dynamics may change when it is released in the stable version of the WhatsApp app.
