Volleyball: Argentina lost to Iran at the closing of the Wagner Memorial
The Argentine men’s volleyball team lost 3-2 to Iran today at the end of the Wagner Memorial friendly, played in Krakow, Poland.
The team led by Marcelo Méndez, preparing for the World Cup in Slovenia / Poland, which starts on August 26, used an alternative formation against the Iranians and fell 25-21, 22-25, 19-25, 25- 22 and 15-13.

Facing Pablo Kukartsev was Argentina’s top scorer with 20 points and Luciano Palonsky contributed with 19. Iranian Saber Kazemi was the game’s top scorer with 22.
The Argentine team had beaten Serbia 3-1 and lost 3-0 to Poland (current two-time world champion), in this preparation home run.
Argentina’s debut in the ecumenical tournament will be in Ljubljana, Slovenia, against Iran on Saturday 27 August (at 12:30, broadcast by ESPN and Star +). For Group F of the 2022 World Championship, Argentina will also face the Netherlands (29/8, at 9:00) and Egypt (31/8, at 6:00).
