The youngest son of film producer GK Reddy, Vishal, attended Loyola College in Chennai, where he majored in visual communications. Although he is mostly known for his parts in action films, he also produces films through his company, Vishal Film Factory.

Vishal’s first job in the film industry was as an assistant to Arjun. He went on to star in the commercially successful action films Sandakozhi, Thimiru, Thaamirabharani and Malaikottai after making his acting debut in the romantic thriller Chellamae (2004).

After a series of theater bombs, Vishal decided to start his own production company. Since then, he has been responsible for the success of such films as Pandiya Naadu (2013), Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014) and Poojai (2014). After leading a protest against the previous committee, Vishal was chosen as general secretary of Nadigar Sangam in October 2015.

Due to his criticism of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), he was expelled from the organization. Eventually, he was elected President of the Tamil Film Producers Council in April 2017.
