Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The visarjan/immersion of idols of Lord Durga is scheduled to be held today in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made all arrangements for a peaceful and orderly immersion.
The Commissionerate Police, the Pollution Control Board and the Fire Department have made various arrangements for the visarana.
All Durga idols are slowly being removed from the pandals. All of them will be brought to the temporary ponds made by BMK for immersion.
A total of four artificial lakes have been created here along the banks of the Kwahai and Daya rivers for immersing the idols.
Around 17 platoons of police force have been deployed in the city to ensure the smooth conduct of idol immersion processions.
