Verdict of the film
Vikram Vedha is an official remake of the Tamil hit movie of the same title. The directorial duo who directed the original also directed this remake. Vikram Vedha has an interesting script and strong characters that have been written. The first half of the film is mainly focused on character formation and the intermission part makes the film more interesting. The second half has many moments that are sure to surprise the audience. Few twists in the film, although they seem simple, add the needed intensity to the story. We can see few changes and additions in Hindi compared to Tamil.
While it comes to acting, Hrithik Roshan looks flawless in the role of Vedha. If you haven’t seen the original in Tamil, you will surely fall in love with the character of Vedha, as he was brilliantly portrayed by Hrithik. If you compare it to the original, then Vijay Sethupathi who played the same character in Tamil might seem superlative. Saif Ali Khan is very good at Vikram’s role as a sincere cop and he was at his best. Radhika Apte, who played Saif’s wife in the film, was brilliant as usual, although her on-screen presence in the character is limited. Rohit Saraf, Sharib Hashmi have done their part well. All the other actors in the film did their part as required for the story.
Technically Vikram Vedha looks brilliant. The songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar are good and the song “Alcoholia” will be a pleasure to watch on screen for some unrealistic moves by Hrithik Roshan. The score composed by Sam CS is one of the highlights of the film. PS Vinod’s photography is another positive aspect of the film, which has some dark imagery that elevates the mood of the story and keeps the audience hooked on the film. The fights are very well choreographed and performed on the screen. The production values of the film are very high.
The Pushkar-Gayathri directorial duo has done magic again. They have managed to recreate the magic that Vikram Vedha made in Tamil and have made very few changes that make no difference to the overall experience of the film. It’s nice to see that the directors stayed true to the original and didn’t spoil its soul.
Overall, Vikram Vedha is an action-packed commercial entertainer, who also delivers a good story and brilliant interpretations of the stellar cast. Surely watch this movie in the cinema.
