Two died in a fire in an overcrowded industrial warehouse in Torrejón de Ardos (Madrid)

A a middle-aged man and woman died this morning in a fire that broke out in an abandoned industrial warehouse in the Madrid town of Torrejón de Ardos, which was occupied by several people.

Emergency sources from the 112 of the Municipality of Madrid have informed Efe that a neighbor filed the notification around half past two in the morning after seeing hislots of smoke coming out of an abandoned two story buildinglocated on Guadalajara Street, between the train tracks and the apartment buildings.

The ship was occupied by an undetermined number of people who they had many belongings there, including furniture and applianceshave indicated the sources.

On arrival, the eight fire services from the Community of Madrid found a “fairly widespread” fire which is developed both inside and on the facade, with “a heavy load of fire” and “quite a lot of smoke coming out of the windows.”

While fighting the fire, which “It was very hard”, firefighters found the bodies of two dead people on the first floor. The National Police has taken over the investigation.
