On Tuesday, Tia Mowry told her followers on social media that she and husband Corey Hardrict are divorcing. “Just wanted to share that Corey and I have decided to separate,” the “Game” actress wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself and Hardrict.
“I’ve always been honest with my fans and today is no different. These decisions are never easy and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we parent our beautiful children. I’m grateful for all the happy times we’ve had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter forward in our lives.”
CNN obtained a copy of Mowry’s divorce filing, which said “irreconcilable differences” were the reason for the split. The actor is the star of the CW show “All American: Homecoming” and has appeared in a number of films, such as “American Sniper.”
In 2015, he told Global Grind that he and Mowry met on the set of “Hollywood Horror” and got to know each other better when she saw him at a bus stop.
“Her sister and she drove by and saw me waiting and asked me for a ride,” he said. “They took me in and we’ve been friends ever since.”
Hardrict said at the time he was a struggling actor who worked odd jobs and “was a security guard at Kmart during the graveyard shift.”
“I was just busy, I met my wife in those days and she was with me when she went out [the popular television show] “Sister, Sister” [which costarred her twin Tamera Mowry],” he said. “They had everything, man, and I had nothing. I had a studio apartment, slept in the corner with no furniture for almost two years.
They were together for six years before tying the knot in 2008. They have an 11-year-old son named Cree and a 4-year-old daughter named Cairo.
