It was and Last week’s topic: the teacher shortage. As soon as it was time to start school in the first cantons, the teacher’s unions protested: because of the shortage of staff, the quality of education was at risk, the German-speaking Swiss teachers’ union (LCH) and the French-speaking Swiss teachers’ association (SER) complained together. Because some cantons now sometimes put teachers without the necessary qualifications in front of students, LCH President Dagmar Rösler told Tamedia newspapers that “she will be worried like a mother”.
