Keonjhar: The body of a youth was found after 3 days in the Kanjhari dam under Keonjhar Sadar police restrictions here in Odisha today.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Prateek Mohanty Bhalukipatala under Sarapasi Panchayat of Ghata Gaon block of the district.
According to reports, last Friday, Prateek parked his bike near the dam and allegedly jumped into it.
Soon the local people notified the police and a team of the Fire Department. After being informed, both the teams reached the spot and started a rescue operation, but the efforts went in vain as the firemen were unable to find Prateek due to heavy water jet.
Meanwhile, Prateek’s family members have also lodged a missing complaint with the police station.
However, after three days, Pateek’s lifeless body was found floating in the water. Local people soon notified the police and fire brigade. Later, police and firemen reached the spot and recovered Prateek’s body.
The police have also sent Prateek’s body for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police have started an investigation into the matter to find out the cause of Prateek’s death.
