The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer debuted at Disney’s D23 Expo

Disney debuted the first teaser trailer for season 3 of the The Mandalorian in D23 on Saturday. The upcoming installment of the flagship Disney+ Star Wars series starring Pedro Pascal will premiere in February 2023.

Among the participants were Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the villainous Moff Gideon, and director Rick Famuyiwa, who has been with the series since its first season.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I first saw the movie, the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater,” Famuiwa said, noting that Star Wars shaped me as a person and a filmmaker.

It’s been almost two years since then The Mandalorianwhich comes from executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, ended its second season in 2020. During that time, numerous Star Wars spinoffs, incl. Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Boba Fett Book hit the streaming service.

The third season will be the first since Lucasfilm ended its relationship with Gina Carano, the controversial actor who played Kara Dune for two seasons before being fired over insensitive tweets in February 2021.

The Mandalorian is just one of the upcoming Star Wars series, including Andorwhich premieres later this month.
