Suspect wanted in a string of bank robberies in Toronto

Toronto police are asking for help to find a man wanted for a string of bank robberies.

Between Tuesday, September 27, 2022, and Tuesday, October 4, police responded to five calls for robberies at financial businesses in Roncesvalles and downtown Toronto.

Police say in each case a man walked into a bank and approached the teller and gave a note saying he was armed with a gun and demanded cash.

No gun was seen in each robbery.

Police have identified the man as Andrew Phillip Williams, 44, of no fixed address. and he faces five counts of robbery.

He is described as 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, with brown hair and is to be considered violent and dangerous.

If seen, do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately.
