Strictly Come Dancing star Matt Goss wiped away tears after becoming the third celebrity eliminated from the show following the dreaded dance-off.

The Bros frontman, who was partnered with Nadia Bychkova, found himself in the dance-off with Kim Marsh and her professional partner Graziano Di Prima.

The two couples again performed their routines in a bid to impress the judges, with Matt and Nadia performing Jive to Paul McCartney’s All Shook Up, while Kym and Graziano performed their successor Samba to Volare by Gipsy Kings.

The judges then voted on which couple they wanted to save, and they all chose Kym and Graziano.

Craig Revel Horwood said: “I think both couples have really stepped up, I mean Matt, you were fantastically crazy in it, I loved it, and Kim was really great in it. But the couple I would like to save is Kim and Graziano.

Mozzi Mabuse added: “It was only after that dance that I decided to save Kim and Graziano.”

The three votes meant that Kym and Graziano were safe and that Matt and Nadiya would leave the competition. When Shirley Ballas was asked who she would save, she also said Kim and Graziano.

Asked about his time on the show, Matt said: “It’s been an amazing experience, I’ve been in America for 25 years. Thank you judges for your frankness, you have helped me in many ways, my posture – Anton, I am more aware of it.

“This lovely lady next to me, a world champion with all the patience. It’s such an honor to dance with you and everyone still involved, I love you guys, go smash it.

Nadia added to her partner, “Firstly, I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to teach and dance with a music icon. But more importantly than that, I had the privilege of getting to know Matt for who you really are. Few people know you and you are a beautiful soul, a very kind person and a true gentleman.

It was at this point that Matt became visibly emotional and began wiping away tears.

“I am an emotional person. I wish my mum was here and my sister was here, but you really have the British audience that made me feel really welcome. Thank you for having me again after 25 years.

Kay Adams and Richie Anderson were previously eliminated from the race.

Although Matt also found the experience challenging, he recently shared how it helped him with an illness he’s had since birth.

The 54-year-old was born with Poland syndrome, a “very rare” condition characterized by webbing of the fingers and underdevelopment of the chest muscle, according to the NHS.

Matt explained that he had “one pectoral muscle on the right side instead of two. The lower one is missing, but the upper one is good and strong.’

During his career as a frontman, Matt said he used to “pose, covering that side of my chest”, but now has plans to reshoot campaigns after Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Matt said: ‘My posture has improved since being on Strictly.

“I want to say to the judges that you made me want to improve this and be proud of my posture. I want to thank them. It’s been a journey for me – I’m getting stronger every week.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
