Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson has announced she has been diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer.

Joe – who has presented Sky Sports since 2015 – was diagnosed this summer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

She recalled crying when she first heard the news and her husband Dan – with whom they share daughter Mabel, 23 months – was also in shock.

“I cried as a lovely nurse held my hand. Then I cried to Dan and he was quite shocked because he didn’t really think it would be cancer. You desperately hope there’s a chance it’s not,” Joe told OK! Magazine.

She asked the doctor if she was “going to die” but was reassured: “It’s very treatable and very curable.”

Jo broke the news of her diagnosis during Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month after going for a Pap smear in June.

She is encouraging other women to get a Pap smear after initially missing hers and talking about her anxieties about the treatment.

Although it is said to have a 70% success rate, she still fears a 30% chance of it not working.

But the host “stays positive” and has “everything in my favor.”

This is breaking news, expect more soon… Check back soon for further updates.
