Siddharth was born in Chennai, India, to parents who spoke Tamil at home. DAV Boys High School in Chennai and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Delhi were his first educational institutions. Subsequently, he went to Kirori Mal College in New Delhi and graduated with honors in Commerce. At the university where he studied, Siddharth was president of the debate society and competed in the World Debate Championships.

After winning a speaker competition for the CNBC Manager of the Year 1999 award, he went on to receive his MBA from the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai. Siddharth chose a career in film after earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; he worked as an assistant to Mani Ratnam before making his film debut in S. Shankar’s Tamil Boys (2003). Thanks to the success of the film, his stars were able to book roles in subsequent Mani Ratnam films, including Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004).

He has established himself as a major figure in Telugu films over the past few years.
